BM logoAPPRENTICE RECRUITMENT INFORMATION SEMINAR (ARIS)

1.  In order to be considered for an Apprenticeship opportunity and/or work through our Organization, you must attend the Apprentice Recruitment Information Seminar first. When you attend every effort will be made to answer all of your questions. Upcoming seminar dates will be posted on our website (Apprenticeship menu under ARIS & WorkSmart Dates and Information).

NOTE: Seminars are held at the Dispatch Hall and no registration is required

2.  It doesn't matter if you have a contract of apprenticeship or want to start a contract-the process is the same for everyone.

3.  The apprentice seminar will cover the following topics:

  • Trade Descriptions
  • Boilermaker Job Demands and the Job Site Requirements
  • Union 146 Advantage
  • Apprenticeship Program

4.  You will be asked to:

  • Fill out a questionnaire
  • Complete a short trade related math/science assessment
  • Provide contact information for personal and work references
  • Bring photo ID

5.  In applying, you must consider the following because your response to the statements will help you decide if a field construction Boilermaker is the career you are looking for.

  • I am willing and able to do strenuous physical work
  • I understand that a certain percentage of work will take place at heights in excess of 200 feet about ground and I am willing to work at heights
  • I understand I will have to work in confined spaces
  • I am willing to travel and live away from home for long periods of time to maintain employment
  • I am willing to work in all types of adverse conditions and climates
  • I am willing to make a commitment to attend technical training in a timely fashion
  • I understand that based on employment conditions I may be unemployed from time to time
  • I am dedicated to performing a job to the best of my ability and in compliance with employer standards
