Apprentices There are a number of grants available to apprentices attending trade school and your employer may also be given a tax credit for each apprentice attending school. More information on these grants can be found at www.servicecanada.gc.ca. At the Calgary Education Training Fund trustees meeting in November 2009, it was agreed that the Fund would not pay for any reimbursement on courses after February 1, 2010. It is up to you to inform the Union hall when you attend school. After school, you will need a dispatch slip to return to work. You are also required to complete a change of classification form (available at the hall) when you complete your apprenticeship. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact the hall.
