Pre – Access Alcohol and Drug Test

  • The majority of jobsites have a requirement to do a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol test (D&A test)
  • A five (5) panel test is conducted under the guidelines of the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace & the United States DOT

  •  You do not test in advance of being dispatched
  • Upon being dispatched you will then be given a 1-800 number to call and book an appointment
  • You will be advised of a testing facility nearest your residency
  • There are hundreds of locations across Canada
  • Be prepared to give the following information
    • Full name
    • Address
    • Phone number that you can be reached at
    • Date of birth
    • Company name and site dispatched to
  • At the testing facility you will be required to produce valid Government picture ID (ie: Driver’s License) or two pieces of valid identification (1 picture minimum)
  • Keep your copy of the test form, this is your personal, confidential copy for reference and may be used for clearance on the next jobsite
  • When at the collection site, leaving the facilities prior to being cleared by the collector constitutes a failure and you will not be hired or retested.
  • For most people results usually take 24-48 hours after your test
  • To get your results, call back to the same number that you used to book your appointment and ask for your results. You will need the number on top of the copy that you kept
  • You proceed to the jobsite ONLY if the result of the test is NEGATIVE 
  • You will not be admitted to Camp, hired on until you receive your results
  • Your employer receives the tests results simultaneously as you do
