Computer Safety Training The computer-based safety training courses are offered at the Boilermaker Learning Centre on Monday to Friday. Please contact Tanya at (780) 451-5999 extenstion 257 to book your appointment. Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) **see notice below This Course is designed for the individual worker and is offered in an e-Learning format. The training is done individually and takes on average 5-6 hours to complete. The participant is instructed on various health & safety topics and tested for 100% mastery of content. This program gives the individual and employer the flexibility of training when and where it is most convenient. Lessons & Topics Covered:
Confined Space Awareness Please allow approximately 3 hours to complete this course. The following topics are covered: 1) Intro to Confined Space Entry 2) Permit Spaces 3) Permit Space Program 4) Hazard Control 5) Safety Equipment 6) Entry Team Duties 7) Real Life Situation 8) Course Self Check H2S Awareness Please allow approximately 2 hours to complete this course. This course is a tool that may be used to train workers who work in areas with low possibility of exposure to H2S. It describes the different exposure levels as legislated by the Alberta Government, and the symptoms of exposure. It also talks about creation of Sulfur Dioxide (S02) and it exposure limits. CSTS Training: $55 H2S Aware: $40 Confined Space Aware: $40 *FREE FOR MEMBERS* CSTS NOTICE Effective immediately CSTS certifications will no longer need to be renewed. All workers certified after January 1, 2004 will not have to redo their CSTS. Confined space awareness or H2S awareness still need to be renewed every 3 years. |
